Audi Hungaria 2014: best year of all times in manufacturing

• Over 1,970,000 engines manufactured
• With over 135,000 cars manufactured, the volume of vehicle production has been tripled
• The number of employees has increased to 11,274

Győr, 09 January 2015 – AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. closed a very successful 2014 financial year with yet another record: 1,973,734 (1,925,636)* engines manufactured. Furthermore, 135,232 vehicles have rolled down from assembly line which means a more than threefold increase in the number of units manufactured compared to 2013. The company keeps on growing, as a continuation of the positive trend of recent years. With the startof mass production of the new Audi TT Coupé and TT Roadster, now four models have their complete production process in Győr. The number of employees rose to 11,274 (10,337) in the previous year.

"Here at Audi Hungaria, we are again looking back at a year during which engine and vehicle production was dynamically expanding;this is a result of the consistent realisation of corporate strategy and the work of our highly motivated and excellently trained employees" said Dr. h.c. Thomas Faustmann, CEO. "With almost two million engines manufactured we have broken the previous record; with over 135,000 cars we have more than tripled the production volume."

In the area of engine production, 1,476,078 four-cylinder Otto and diesel engines and 2,853 five-cylinder Otto engines were manufactured in the last financial year. Futhermore,
452,770 six-cylinder engines and 42,033 eight-, ten-, and twelve-cylinder power plants were manufactured by the company.

In 2014, Audi Hungaria manufactured six different Otto and four different diesel engines in 216 variations in the power range of 63 kW (86 HP) - 419 kW (570 HP). Approximately 6,000 employees manufacture 8,800 engines every day. The engine production plant in Győr supplies over 32 vehicle manufacturing sites of the Volkswagen Group with its products.

In the area of vehicle production, 135,232 cars were manufactured in total, 7,532 of them were 2nd generation Audi TT Coupés, 2,311 were 2nd generation Audi TT Roadsters, 7,431 were 3rd generation Audi TT Coupés, 380 were 3rd generation Audi TT Roadsters, 98,170 were A3 Limousines and 19,408 were A3 Cabriolets.

Last year's special highlight was the start of mass production of the 3rd generation Audi TT Coupé and TT Roadster. Both models are entirely manufactured in Hungary.
Currently over 4000 employees work in the area of vehicle production which has the capacity to manufacture 160,000 vehicles per year.
On 31 December 2014, the company had 11,274 (10,337) employees.
