Audi Hungaria to establish an even closer cooperation with Széchenyi István University in Győr.The Department for Vehicle Development was set up this summer through cooperation between the University and the company. Effective from 1 September, Dr. Tamás Jakubík, the thermodynamics and energy management expert of Audi Hungaria was appointed Head of Department. Arranged in close cooperation with Audi experts, the series of university lectures will be launched at the beginning of 2014.
“The fourth Audi Department is yet another important result of years of fruitful cooperation. We are very proud of our vehicle development experts who will be the first in Hungary to put together specialist presentations on the most cutting-edge technologies”, said Thomas Faustmann, Chief Executive Officer of Audi Hungaria.
“With the new Department, Széchenyi István University will establish an important connection point between research and practical application. We have found a strong partner in Audi Hungaria, the largest employer in our region, for the implementation of our objectives”, said Dr. Péter Földesi, Rector of the University.
The new department will enable students to get in touch with experts and expand their knowledge. In the context of the educational programme special emphasis is placed on the improvement of German and English language skills and on the acquisition of project management skills. Among other things, modern simulation processes and testing technologies will be the primary focus of the lectures, with these topics representing a new priority in university education.
The regional and international appeal and reputation of the University of Győr is enhanced by international cooperation between higher education institutions, the excellent grant opportunities offered to students, and collaboration with German institutes of higher education.
“Through our cooperation with the University of Győr, we open up attractive opportunities for talented future engineers to start their professional career in the field of vehicle development at Audi Hungaria. The new Department is a significant cooperating partner in the long-term staffing strategy of Audi Hungaria”, said Dr. Erzsébet Knáb, Managing Director for Human Resources.
Besides the new Department, Audi Hungaria has three additional Departments at the Faculty of Technology of Széchenyi István University (SZE): the Department of Material Sciences and Technology, the Department of Internal Combustion Engines and the Department of Vehicle Manufacturing.
