Audi Hungaria’s Experimental Motor Manufacturing Centre relocated to new building

2012. 07. 27.

• Investment valued at over HUF 2.8 billion
• New centre to focus on efficiency improvement and process optimisation
• Around 30 new jobs by the end of the year

The new building of the Experimental Motor Manufacturing Centre (MAC) was unveiled today at AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft., where the development and production activities related to experimental motors will be brought under one roof.  With the implementation of the new building complex, the company has spent over HUF 2.8 billion on product and process optimisation.

“The new Experimental Motor Manufacturing Centre provides optimal conditions for facilitating efficient cooperation between development and production. This is particularly important during the launch of our new, efficient engines,” said Achim Heinfling, Managing Director for Engine Production of Audi Hungaria.

Employees at the new centre focus on optimising production processes and developing new engines into a stage ready for serial production. The centre is dedicated to the production and testing of experimental engines, as well as their preparation for serial production. As a result, development and production can work together from the early stages of the development process, thereby achieving even greater efficiency. With a floor space of around 7,300 square metres, the new building was built in the immediate vicinity of the sites of technical development and production engineering. Besides the projects of Audi Hungaria and Audi AG, employees of the Experimental Motor Manufacturing Centre also work on orders from the Volkswagen Group.

At present, there are around 90 people working at the new complex. By the end of the year, the number of employees is expected to increase to around 120. There are openings for highly qualified engineers, technicians and equipment operators.
