10-year technological development effort expanded with vehicle development

The Engine Development Centre of AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its establishment today. In the previous decade, the company invested over HUF 9 billion into engine development and created 150 jobs in this sector. AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. will add vehicle development to its development activities. In the coming years, an investment worth over HUF 2 billion will be implemented by the development of the new area with 70 new jobs created.

The dedication and innovative spirit of our employees, the cross-sector integration of products and processes are proof of forward-looking technology and the success of our firm,” said Thomas Faustmann, the Managing Director of Audi Hungaria. “Our developmental activity has reached a new milestone. Vehicle development is a logical next step in the evolution of our know-how and our proven processes in vehicle manufacturing, a result of the trust placed in us.”

Engine development began in Győr in 2001. Its primary tasks include development activities associated with manufacturing, as well as the support of mass production and the introduction of new products. Additionally, the site’s 150 engineers and employees are intensely engaged in various development projects, for example the study of drag performance and analyses of screw use and acoustics. 13 modern test benches can be found at the Engine Development Centre; the latest technologies are employed in its workshop.

With the establishment of vehicle development activities, an investment worth over HUF 2 billion will be implemented with 70 new jobs created. In the coming years, at the new site the emphasis will shift to vehicle testing with a focus on manufacturing, thereby assisting the optimal entry of new vehicles in the manufacturing phase. At the new site, drive train and vehicle inspections, vehicle durability tests, numerical simulation of complete vehicles and various special analyses, among other things, will be performed, under operating conditions in compliance with customer expectations.

From now on, the company is awaiting applications from experienced, professional mechanical and vehicle engineers with experience in measurement technology, numerical simulations or engine applications. The company provides talented engineers with an excellent opportunity to make use of their creativity and professional know-how in the area of research and development, in the world of the most technologically advanced products. To implement the new tasks, state-of-the-art equipment and technologies are used; for example, high performance computer systems for numerical simulations and inspection benches for analysis.
