• “Audi Kreaktivity” – technological competition for students
• Participants from every region of the country
• Final round at Audi Hungaria

The team of Ipari Secondary Technical and Grammar School of Veszprém won the competition “Audi Kreaktivity 2010” in Győr last weekend. Audi Hungaria held a technological competition for the third time for secondary school and grammar school students. The goal of the project work was to build a vehicle that is not driven by a combustion or electric motor, but it can still cover a distance of twenty metres. Close to forty Hungarian schools took part in the competition, out of which eight schools presented their vehicles at Audi Hungaria last Friday.

“This competition provides Audi Hungaria with the opportunity to present itself in good time as an attractive employer among secondary school students as well. We can see that our potential future employees are capable of effective teamwork and they use creative solutions,” said Richárd Rozman, General Manager of Human Resources Department at the prize giving ceremony.

The competition was announced among secondary schools and grammar schools in Hungary. From among the many participants the eight best three-to-six-member teams got into the final round in Győr. The first task in the final round was the presentation of the vehicle in German, and then the covering of the required 20-metre distance. An expert panel of Audi Hungaria’s vehicle and engine manufacturing experts evaluated the performance of the teams. Katalin Pálinger, world-class goalkeeper of the women’s handball team of Győri Audi ETO KC, supported the work of the panel as an honorary member.

“Competitions like Audi Kreaktivity present us with a challenge in which we were able to show our creativity not only in brainstorming but also in the realization of the ideas. We are very happy and proud that we won since it was about two months’ work that produced this beautiful result,” said Tamás Fódi, the captain of the team of Ipari Secondary Technical and Grammar School of Veszprém, a final year student of the school.

The best team won the prize of a three-day visit to the Audi headquarters in Ingolstadt, and an adventure drive with an Audi. The panel also gave a valuable special prize to the team of Száraznád Education Centre, Budapest in the “Design” category, to the students of Lukács Sándor Vocational School, Győr in the “Speed” category, and to the team of Bánki Donát Secondary Technical School, Nyíregyháza in the “Innovation” category.
